HI!!  I wanted to follow up after my “added sugar” blog from last week.  Here is a product I found in the grocery store yesterday.

 

Before I begin, let me say I love beets.  They are an awesome addition to your diet. They are an good source of vitamin C, iron, folate, fiber, magnanese and potassium. They have NATURALLY occurring sugar in them.

Here’s the issue.  You take a great vegetable like that and then add COCONUT SUGAR…one of the 60+ names for SUGAR that I mentioned. At that point you have something approaching candy.  Check out the black arrows on the pictures above.
