Truth time: I have never had a weight problem.

I’ve been pregnant twice. I fit in my jeans the first time after six weeks.

Before you say, “Screw this chick!” – – keep reading.

Despite my lack of “I was where you are, follow me”, I am the right choice for people who are starting out because I am almost 49 years old and still look this way. Genes will only get you so far.

If I decided that “enough was enough” and quit working as hard as I do – with BOTH fitness AND nutrition, I would be joining the “middle-age spread” with the best of ’em.

The rest of this story has 2 prongs:

I share both, not as a “Look at ME, look at ME!”-type story BUT as a “I get it. I understand how you are feeling and KNOW HOW TO ADDRESS IT.” My years of experience can help you FEEL better.

Little story: A LONG time ago I had a client who came in with a picture of herself. She said to me, in all seriousness, “This is what I want to look like.” It was a picture from her gymnastics days high school.  She was 37 at the time. I can’t explain HOW important goals are.  Specific, Measurable, Action-oriented, Realistic and Time-based (SMART) goals. Her picture did NOT represent a goal like that.

YEP. High school graduation. Had a GREAT one in my BAND uniform, but can’t find it!!!

The FIRST THING I want to acknowledge/make you see/say is – let’s NOT start this process/journey with the goal of looking like we did in high school, looking like the women in magazines, or even losing 5, 10, 50 or 100 pounds.

Let’s start by FEELING better.

Let’s start by TAKING CARE of ourselves in the most BASIC of ways.

To that end, I am running a challenge starting NEXT week – “H2OMe!” – YEP – a drinking water challenge. Can’t get more basic than THAT. Get ready!!   I am running it on Instagram, so start following me!!!

  • Haven’t pooped, drink some water

  • Tired, drink some water
  • About to exercise, drink some water
  • Just exercised, drink some water
