Okay so I’m listening to Carolyn and it’s mid-day.  I THINK I might be hungry, but before reaching for a snack, I think I’ll have a drink.  Maybe I’m just thirsty.

I was at the grocery store and had recently seen this brand of seltzer.  Well, I THOUGHT it was seltzer.  As I do, before putting it in my cart, I read the front of the box…”no artificial flavors…no artificial sweeteners”…sounds good so far, right?  Hhmmmm…”no ARTIFICIAL sweeteners”…that sounds odd…let me look further.

It is NOT a seltzer, but a “Sparkling Beverage”…it does NOT have ZERO calories, like a seltzer does, but 60 calories…let’s turn it over to the ingredient list…”sparkling water, SUGAR…”

The second ingredient is sugar…14 grams of it per serving.  Well THAT’S going back on the shelf.

READ LABELS.  Even when you THINK you know what is going to be in something, read it anyway.  You may be surprised.
