CC – Beautiful day for a run!!  Warm and sunny!!  You got new shoes yesterday!! LET’S GOOOOO!!

WC – I totally want to go, but I slept reallllly badly last night.  I hardly slept at all the night before that because I stayed up to watch the NCAA basketball final.  I worked all morning.  I am POOPED.  I’ll run tomorrow.

CC – It’s gonna rain tomorrow.  Let’s go now.

WC – I lifted Monday and Tuesday, remember?  Tried out those new workouts you wrote?  I deserve a day off.  I’ll go tomorrow.

CC – Tomorrow is already scheduled to be a leg day.  Just do 2 miles.  I’ll be happy if you do 2.

WC – Right.  Legs.  Okay.  I’ll do 2.

CC – Great.  You know you’re going to do 3, right?

WC – Yeah, I know.  Let’s go.

CONCLUSION:  Ran 3.1

ANNNNNDDDDDD….SCENE!

Moral:  Consistency is difficult for everyone.  Even those who LOVE to exercise. So what does “Carolyn the Woman” do when this happens?  When I am actually tired and actually have a lot going on in my life?

Today I had to think about how I wanted to feel when the day was over.  Did I want to look back and REGRET not doing anything?  Or did I want to suck it up and get SOMETHING done?  I didn’t run 5 or 6.  I did a 5k…3.1 miles.  It WAS a beautiful day.  I took my time.  Didn’t break any records.  I got the blood flowing. Came up with this fun blog idea, too.

You never know where 3 miles can take you.  Begin with the end in mind.
